| The road that loops M-boro Lake has six hills, some of which are pretty steep, but none too long.
It's not uncommon to see runners, bikers, and walkers making their way around this beautiful lake. There
is ample parking locations and light traffic on the roads around the lake.
To find M-boro Lake State Park, travel through Murpysboro on Rt. 13/149 (it's actually rt 149 in M-boro). A couple miles west
of the downtown area, keep an eye out for Lake Access Rd. and watch for the signs for M-boro Lake and Lake Kinkaid.
Turn right onto Lake Access Rd, which is at the bottom of a hill. Drive down Lake Access Rd. for about .5 miles
and take your first right. This is the entrance into the park. You could, if you desire, park at the visitors center
located just before the right turn into the park.
Run the loop to get in four miles, or take some of the spurs toward the lake to add more mileage. This is a great place to prep for the
River to River Relay race. |
