| Here's a nice little 1.6 mile trail run that's only 10 minute from Carbondale. The trail has a couple good hills to get that heart pumpin'.
Also, the majority of this trail is singletrack, so you'll find yourself zig-zagging around obsticles, trees, rocks, etc.
Please note: You must have a Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge sticker for your vehicle, or you will get a ticket.
The sticker is required even if you are driving on the refuge propery. You can get a sticker at the Crab Orchard NWR headquarters on Rt. 148, south of Rt. 13 and Herrin.
To find Rocky Bluff, drive east out of Carbondale on Rt. 13. At Spillway Rd (across from IKE Auto Park), turn right. Drive down
Spillway road for about 8 miles until Grassy Rd. vears off to the right. Take Grassy Rd. about 1 mile to Tacoma Rd. and take a left.
Drive drive down Tacoma Rd. about 3/4 mile and look for a parking area to your left. This is the trailhead for Rocky Bluff. Don't mind that the
trailhead sign says that the trail is 1.4 miles. The GPS doesn't lie . . .
